November Barkbox 2013

This week we received our Barkbox. Both Remi and Cinder were excited!

Once I opened the box, I had a bit of a hard time keeping Remi away from the toy.

PetSafe Pogo Plush Dog Toy - $12.52

Perfect toy for Remi. Cinder doesn't like it too much because of the extra 'legs'. But the size is perfect for his size.

Best part is, that if Cinder does start to like it and destroys it, there is no stuffing to pick up!! Love that!

Not a great picture of him, but he went after it. Loves it. Lol.

Bocce's Bakery Truffle Mac & Cheese - $7.87

These treats have skim mozzarella, and lean turkey bacon in it. I just love that they keep our dogs diets in mind. Best part is, they don't know the difference!

Nootie Yumzies Duck Jerky Chews Natural Grain Free Sweet Potato Flavor Dog Treats - $15.15

These are perfect little treats to break into smaller pieces. Remi and Cinder prefer these over any other treats recently.

Twistix Vanilla Mint Flavor Dental Chews For Dogs - $7.57

While these are a little hard, Remi loves them. Cinder will spit it out a few times before she will eat it. But my gosh, their breath smells SO much better.

All in all this months Barkbox was a good haul. Based of Amazon's current prices today, the grand total was $43.11 and all we paid was $29.99. Barkbox is a great Monthly Subscription.

If you're interested in Barkbox, you may sign up with the link at the top, or you can leave me a comment with your email and I can send you one with a $5 discount, this way Remi and Cinder will also be able to enjoy another Barkbox!

Have a great Thanksgiving!!

October 2013 Barkbox

Unfortunately I haven't been able to update this in almost a month!!

I'm so sorry about that.

We received our Barkbox towards the end of the month. I wasn't expecting it to take so long. However, once I came home from work and brought in the box, both Remi and Cinder knew it was for them!!

I couldn't even take pictures before they both jumped on the chance to open it and get what was inside.

Inside there was a glow in the dark ball (mainly for Cinder as Remi's mouth is a tad too small), and a odd looking blue Durable toy for both of them. They also included 3 types of treats. All made in America. One was a Rabbit chew stick. The others were dried Goat Livers which they LOVED and some treats to share at the dog park.

All in all for $29.99 ($19.99 for our first box), it was well worth it.
Barkbox donates 10% of everything to Rescue groups. So, if you think that your dog would enjoy having some treats/toys specially delivered, then please sign up!

If you'd like to help my Remi and Cinder out as well, I'd love to send you a referal link for it. You'd still be helping the Rescue groups! :D

Until the next box!

October 2013 Julep Maven Box Review

This month with Julep we were given the Rebel Set...

The set included 9 polishes, eyeliner with a sharpener and a facial mask.
There was only 1 color that I'm not too fond of, Dahlia (the Goldenrod Microglitter). I'll probably just gift it to a friend around Christmas if I still can't like it.

Usually the Julep Maven monthly boxes cost $19.99 and you get a choice of 1 set. Or you can upgrade your box for an extra $35 (total $55) and get all the sets. This month, that is what I did, but I also included 2 add-ons for $4.99 each. All in all a great turn out for what I spent.

The Kajal Eye Glider and Sharpener were pretty much a reminder of how much I don't like pencil eyeliners. Now, don't get me wrong this one is pretty great. It goes on smooth, doesn't leave anything behind, it just doesn't stay like my normal eyeliner I use. BUT, stupid me forgot to buy eyeliner last time I was our at CVS, and it's not bad for being a pencil. Usually this goes for $22, but being a Maven Subscriber I can get it again for $17.60. Not a bad price, especially since the sharpener is probably the best I've used

The Mask Noir was actually not bad. I usually don't wear masks, but this one is different that others. Its a peel-off mask of gentle kaolin clay and black volcanic ash which left my skin feeling soft. It takes a bit of time to completely dry (about 30 minutes), but the results are great. There are a few spots that still have the mask left usually, but they come off with a warm towel. The mask is priced fairly high at $32, but if you become a Maven you'll get it for $25.60 which is a GREAT price!

NOW, on to my favorite part, the polishes!!!

Each month Julep rolls out new sets (or you can get the upgraded box, which I did this month).

Classic with a Twist
When I took my first Maven quiz to see what my Style is, I was told Classic with a Twist and they definitely nailed that!
I love both of these colors!! Anisa is a wonderful holiday red that I will definitely be wearing around the holidays and I had Winona on just last week with the two add-ons. (Picture at the bottom)

Bombshell
Let me just say, I love green. All shades of green pretty much. This one, Valerie, with the microglitter, its just makes me so happy! Cleopatra is gorgeous, even with it having the latex look to it. For me, I'm going to try doing a latex tips and see how that goes this weekend. I hope it comes out just as I am envisioning it.

Boho Glam

Stevie has a lovely Concrete Frosty Gray. But poor Dahlia is just a tad too golden for my skin tone. I may just gift them box together to a friend for her birthday or as a Christmas gift. I'm sure that she will use these, unlike myself.

It Girl

Could I be in love with these colors anymore than I am.. No, no, I don't think so. Ciara is GORGEOUS! Let me say that again, GORGEOUS!! The deep magenta with the teal microglitter just makes it pop! Missy is Titanium metallic, and it goes so well with Kendra! Army Green Frost and Titanium, ah, LOVE IT.

Add-On

Though this Box is for October, I thought we'd get more Halloween themed choices, but it doesn't look like it. Maybe next year.
HOWEVER, we did get Casper and Beatrix as the add ons. Casper is a glow in the dark polish. I've worn it alone as well as on top of colors. Looks great both ways and it DOES glow in the dark.
Beatrix is just beautiful. I added it to my tips when I was wearing Winona and they made my nails pop. I also added a coat of Casper for a bit of extra sparkle.

Don't forget that if you sign up, you get your first box for free by using the code FREEBOX.

Until my next box!! Have a great month!!

Welcome!!

Welcome to my new Blog!

I'm Kera, I live in Northern California and I can't seem to have enough nail polish.

I am a Julep Maven subscriber (only $19.99 a month) and I get a few new polishes once a month for the regular subscription. There are times though when they have 'Mystery Boxes'. I bought one of them from September. LOVED IT!!!!

September Supernova Mystery Box

Like I said, the regular subscription monthly boxes cost $19.99, unless you want to upgrade your box. Then the price could be $55+. For this mystery box, separate from the regular Subscription, usually start out at $19.99, but they have 3 styles of mystery. The above picture is of the Supernova Box for $39.99. The middle mystery boxes usually cost $24.99. You can always get add-ons if you'd like. I did for my October box. They range from $4.99 and up.

I've only been a Julep Maven subscriber since July, but I love it. Their customer service is much better than ones I've had the pleasure of dealing with before.

I highly suggest giving them a try. You ALWAYS get your first box free with the code - FBFREE

Another subscription that I am part of is BarkBox. I know that its not make up, but I love my dogs a little too much and I like to spoil them rotten.

I need to get my French Bulldog, Rémi a bow tie.. Because Bow ties are cool.

Barkbox is a set just for the dogs!! Usually there will be 2-4 HIGH quality treats for your pooch, as well as a toy and sometimes a few other items. Subscription starts at $29.99 per month if you do it month to month, or you can sign up for a 3 or 6 month plan. I decided to try out the monthly for now to see if my 'kids' like it or not. We should be receiving our first box next week!

If you're interested in Barkbox, click the picture below and it will take you to their site, and give you $5 off your first subscription! I definitely recommend it. I will be reviewing them as well on this blog once I start getting my own boxes. I've had a few friends get it, and they've all thought it was a great idea for their 'Kids'.

Our two babies, Cinder (our Weimaraner) and Rémi (our French Bulldog).

I hope that you've found a bit of new information out. I'm going to keep updating this blog when I get new polishes, try out new things, or if I just find a recipe that I've been dying to try, I'll post it. I hope that doesn't scare you away. Check back soon for more updates!!
